University College Dublin Science Centre is a world class, interactive facility for research and teaching. The Science Centre is a national asset. The development of its people and programs will have far reaching economic and social consequences for generations.
The UCD O'Brien Centre for Science has transformed science infrastructure at Ireland's largest university and has become home to more than 2,500 undergraduate and graduate students and many more researchers over a range of scientific disciplines.
Having successfully tendered for the loose furniture package for UCD Science East, Sheelin Group worked in conjunction with RKD architect and the client direct for the supply, delivery and installation of all the loose furnishing, canteen furnishings and all classroom/study room requirements for the new state of the art science centre in UCD . The €300m science Centre represents the largest single investment in science in the history of the State. The UCD O'Brien Centre for Science officially opened in 2013 and has transformed science infrastructure at Ireland's largest university.
Working in conjunction with RKD Architects, Bruce Shaw Partnership and the client UCD directly, Sheelin Group were appointed to provide all loose furniture, canteen furniture, breakout furniture and classroom and study room furniture for the new Science Centre East development at UCD. Sheelin Group worked diligently in conjunction with the project team to adhere to the strict parameters of the project and deadlines set down. The project was completed on time and to the full satisfaction of the client and project design team.
The project timeline was split over 4 large phasing with the completion of phase 1 and phase 2 in September 2013 and the balance completed in Quarter 1 of 2014.
