THE PROJECT OVERVIEW
After a competitive tender process, Sheelin Group Commercial Interiors was awarded the contract to fit out this exciting new facility. Our remit included the supply, delivery and installation of all furniture to this collaborative environment including, but not limited to all meeting spaces, breakout spaces, training facilities, bespoke collaborative areas, private working zones, media zones, canteen, micro kitchens and reception space.
Such a highly specialised facility required really unique solutions and lateral thinking - projects of this kind are a huge passion point for our team.
THE CHALLENGE
With an area spanning 130,000 sq ft over 7 floors, this highly ambitious project came with a significant number of challenges. One overarching consideration was that as a highly collaborative and flexible workspace, it required a number of customised solutions.
The location also presented a number of delivery and installation challenges due to its limited access for vehicles, including limited access times. The timeline was also extremely tight relative to the scale of the project.
THE RESULT
This landmark venture was completed on time and to the full satisfaction of the client and other project partners.
In fact, since the completion of this project we've completed over 200,000 square feet of office space for the client nationwide, including local branch and larger scale projects in the heart of Dublin City Centre. Every new project represents a unique creative challenge for the team here at Sheelin. THE SHEELIN SOLUTION
For this modern and sophisticated project, our independence was key to delivery the required uniqueness. As an independent supplier, we are not bound to any particular manufacturer, which means that we can approach every single project with complete objectivity and creativity.
To fulfil the brief, we tapped into our wide network of European suppliers. This allowed us to deliver a variety of the highest quality products, a large amount of which were customised for the Client's wide variety of users and uses. Over 2000 products from over 50 different suppliers were supplied in total. Using multiple suppliers naturally complicates the coordination process, but we are highly experienced in such complex sourcing and supplying. Our knowledge allowed us to rise to the challenge through meticulous planning, sucessfully coordinating all manufacturers within the strict delivery schedules that had to be adhered to.
This intricate, seven floor project needed to be delivered over the strict timeframe, coordinated with the main contractor and over 100 other subcontractors. As a "live", working building, rising to the challenge of seamless coordination of deliveries and installation was critical. We also sucessfully coordinated with the main contractor as well as the M&E (Mechanical and Electrical) and AV Consultants providing complete drawing sets by our own inhouse teams to coordinate all the works. Despite all the customisation requirements of the project, we always took into account the environmental considerations of the products being used in this energy efficient and environmentally responsible facility.
